Tire Size advice needed
Tire Size advice needed
I just ordered the Palo Uber Signature rims today, in 17x7 with a 42 offset. I have a stock suspension, but may go with springs someday down the road.
The guys at Palo Uber are suggesting 235/45/17's... but I just don't think that's wise!
Anyhow... I'm just trying to figure out what is the ideal size tire to fit. I'd love to go with some 225/45/17's, but I'm not sure if I'll have issues with that or not.
Which tire you ask?? After doing a lot of reading up on it on tire rack, I want the General Exclaim UHP. It's specs are impressive, and the price is really unbeatable.
Any help anyone can offer with this will be much appreciated. I'm super confused as to what to believe.

235/45/17 will definitely rub if you drop in the future. And I think that'd be a bit too much sidewall for my personal taste.. Maybe a 235/40/17.. Although I'd just go with 215/40/17 but personally I dislike thick sidewalls... As for tires, BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW i've heard are great, those will be the next set I get... Good luck..
235/40-17 is closer to the stock 205/45-17 than the 235/45 PU suggest.
However, I also like 215/40/17 like 02MCS suggests. That is what I have and it looks great. Not sure if the little bit more rubber on the road would help with the 235.

It will be about .7 in taller.
