Left rear Caliper information needed

So I take off the caliper inside pad on the metal, outside bad at LEAST 50% pad life left. Go to use the caliper tool to compress the piston and its siting and spining and sping and spining, I can tighten the tool and lock it up then when I loosen it it just starts spining again. All with out retracting one iota.

Any advice?

Anyone have photos of the piston itself? Or at least with the rubber boot removed?

I'm going to go do the other side (with even wear on inner and outer pads) and come back and check this. Any info is aprreciated. I'd like to do what its going to take to fix THIS caliper and not have to order a new one as the one significantly older semi-simlar thread I could find on this used as their solution.

So, what are you asking? Is your piston stuck or you cant get the tool to work properly? Well...when I first changed my pads, the right rear was worn all the way down...then the left rear. I thought that was odd but have found that it is normal wear and the caliper is not defective (sticky brake). I have problems with my caliper tool at first. I was spinning it for days and then finally the sun and moon were aligned. Anyways, I am finishing up my BBK/brake job this weekend and I will let you know what I find out.

Well after looking at it for a while I think I've determined the tool is possibly deffective and the calipers certainly have some corrsion to them but alsas I got he job done (with help of some carefully palced WD-40 as well), and done right, and got to set the pads in tonight. I'm pleased to have Pearl in good functioning order again to say the least.

Hope th BBK is going well.

Rear caliper piston stuck!

you can open the bleeder to release the pression, push the piston back with the bleed scew open, that way it will be easier to push the piston back.
