Do I need spacers?

I bought my MINI some new 17" x 7" Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 wheels for Christmas. (My car gets better presents then any human I know...

Since I am new to the world of putting on aftermarket wheels, I need to ask if I need wheel spacers?

Background information:

My car is a 2004 MCS, with sport suspension. I had the 17" x 7.5" S-lites/run-flats on previously. The offset on the S-lites is 50mm. By the way, I do NOT plan on doing any suspension work, except perhaps a rear anti-sway bar. The suspension is 100% stock right now.

The new wheels were purchased from Out Motoring, http://outmotoring.com/team_dynamics_pro_race_1.html

They have a 45mm offset. I already purchased aluminum centering rings, instead of using the plastic ones that they came with. But obviously, those have no effect on offset.

So I ask again, do I need spacers?
'm looking for answers from the NAM community, especially the people who have these wheels.

Thank you!

Not that I am doubting or discounting your sound advice and experience, MINIAC, but are ther any other opinions out there on this issue?

No, problems with that offset at all. If you check my gallery you can see the range of wheels, I have had on my MCS.

And the offset has ranged for +37 - +48 and all work just fine at stock ride height. Even with larger than stock tires

No, spacers are not necessary. On my previous MCS I replaced the stock (195/55/16's on 6.5x16 r-84 v-spokes with 48 offset) wheels and tires with Team Dynamics pro Race 1's. They were 7x17 with 45 offset mounted with Yokohama AVS Sport in 215/45/17 and there were no problems of any kind.

So my advice is: Go For It!!

Hope this hellps...
