How do they repair the edge of a wheel such as a webspoke from curbing? Is it all aluminum and they just sand/polish it out? I assume it is clearcoated.

That post is sweet....except the R90's or Webspokes don't have painted edges...right? Aren't those polished?

 

Anyone know this? How are the edges of the webspokes and R90's finished? Poliched and cleared?

 

I'd be willing to bet that they are clear coated at a minimum. If not, they would dull pretty quickly.

I just had a mobile wheel repair place stop by my office to repair some curb rash on my wife's aluminum wheels (not a MINI). They sanded/polished out the rash and put on a coat of clear. The whole process took 45 minutes - $95 and it looks like a new wheel.

 

In case you have the 2 piece BBS webspokes or R90's I found out the answer. The outer lip is machined smooth on a CNC machine and then powdercoated clear. Repair to original standards can be done but expensive so most repairs are sanding, polishing and spray clear.
