I want to get the TD PRO RACE 1 17x7 +45. Should get the 205/45/17's or 215/40/17 yoko avs? Will the wider tire rub? 10mm doesn't seem like much of a difference, but I want to be 100% certain that I won't have issues.

That's what I have and like it. I may eventually lower it as well.

Whoops, 205/40/17's. But Gabe has the 215's and they look tough, and have no problems at all.

Great, thanks for the quick response, as usual!

Alex/Tire Rack, can you confirm this?

TireRack does not guarantee 215/40/17 as it has a shorter diameter, and needs 35-36 psi to maintain correct load. I know several MC drivers using this size with good results, and no complications.

I have 215/45-17 and have no issues...
I will probably not be able to lower the car with this setup, but have no intention to do so.

Peace,
D

If there are no issues what are the pro's and con's of the two sizes? Is there any difference at all? Thanks for all your help!

EDIT: I think I'll just stick to the recommended 205/45/17 and save myself from potential issues with the diameter being too small.

I run 215/40/17s on my 17 x 7 wheel with no issues... In fact, I've had 2 200+ lb passengers in the back and there was no rubbing at all... go for it:smile:
