m14 x 1.25 small diameter or spline lugs??

I am at a loss. I have a set of brand new rims and tires ready to put on my car and I am without the right lugs. The problem is Mini changed the lug size to M14 x 1.25 in August 2006. The stock lugs' heads do not fit through the holes in the aftermarket wheels I have. So my question is, where can I find either small diameter lugs, spline lugs, or a stud kit in M14 x 1.25. Is there any way I could machine down the diameter of the heads on the stock lugs??

Just so that I know what your situation is...
You have wheels with the 12mm lug holes(?)
Your MINI has the larger 14mm lug bolts(?)
If this is the case, Can you open the lug holes on the wheels 2mm?
You can't machine the lug bolts smaller than what the hub thread is.

Yes you are right about my situation, but my wheels do not look like they have any extra surface area to spare to drill the holes out.

I'm with ya on the lug bolt change. I have a great set of Comp SSR's that are drilled for 12mm and my new MINI is set for 14mm lug bolts.

What I've found is the 14mm by 1.25 thread pitch is a bit rare outside of the dealer, and according to the "Outmotoring" website, they have not found a new supplier for 14mm studs for thier conversion kit.

Alex at the Tirerack said he could not recommend drilling the rims I have, and you mentioned ya don't think there is room to drill on yours.

I'm sure there are many of us in this situation, please let me know if you find an answer, I know I'm already lookin at new rims, so the SSR's may end up in the Marketplace.

Good luck to ya.
