Anybody Try Akebono Brake Pads?
The website says that they are not yet available for the MINI.
But there are some really good options out there for low dust.
I'm using the Hawk HPS pads on the front with OEM pads on the rear. When my rear's look filthy, my fronts look only slightly tarnished.

On my Mini I run Wilwood/TCE BBK with Hawk HPS pads for the street.
On my Suburban I have Akebono Cermanic pads. There is almost no brake dust and the wear is outstanding. I had to replace the rears after 90,000 miles due to a parking brake problem, so I went ahead and replaced the fronts. After 90,000 miles (much city driving on a heavy vehicle), the fronts had close to half of the pad remaining. Many automotive companies (such as GM) use Akebono as their OEM for brakes.

I use the Akebono ceramics on my Subaru Forester. Hardly any dust & it's a very light colored dust. Not the black coal dust like you get from stock MINI brakes. My MINI will be getting a set of them soon.
Interesting
A large majority of German car companies use Jurid or Pagid pads. Have for a long time. The Jurid on the slower cars and the Pagid on the faster cars. And that is on the 06 cars.
