What offset do I want?

IT's hard for me to answer this question. The S-Lite is a 17x7 rim with a 50 offset according to the sticky thread. Is it true that when the number gets lower the wheel/tire goes further and further out?

I am wanting to get a 17x7.5 rim and my offset choices are between 40 and 48 (mm??). More than likely I'll put some springs on the car and it would be nice to have a relatively nice, aggressive stance. What would I want to get then?

Please help....pictures would help with 17" wheels as well.

For an aggressive stance you're going to want a lower offset. Maybe not too low that you'll risk rubbing but low enough that it looks nice. Like kenchan said 42-48 would be perfect, however for an aggressive stance I'd say stick to the lower end. And for tires you could run a 215/45 i'm sure...
