I am planning on getting some new 17" wheels installed within a week of delivery of my Mini Cooper S(mid April). I have heard that Enkei wheels are very good as they are light weight and durable. The MM2 design is what I am looking to get for my Mini. Does anybody have the weight of these wheels or just Enkei wheels in general? Wow...I don't have a Mini(yet) and I am already thinking about mod's

If you want light weight, why are you putting 17" on? 16" looks nice too (better IMNSHO), and can at least save 5 lbs per corner (air and sidewall are lighter than wheel). Plus, you'd save money and have it available for the rest of your mods...

Sorry for the confusion, let me clarifty. I am interested in getting some 17 inch wheels in the weight range of 16-18lbs. But I would also like a dark silver/black finish on them too. I may consider 16 inch wheels too with the same spec's as mentioned above. I can see why a 16 inch wheel would be lighter (less mass=less rolling resistance, therefoe less revs per mile), but wouldn't less tire(lower profile) also save weight?

Not necessarily GB! A shorter sidewall needs more reinforcement, since there's less air to cushion the ride. Also, a particular tires construction is critical in tire weight. Tire weights for the MINI's OEM 17" sizes range from 19 to 30 pounds! The same priniciple applies to 17" vs. 16", it's all in design and construction.

If you want light, SSR Comp 17"x7.5 and Dunlop 9000's (205/45-17) are the trick, you'll save 15 pounds a corner over S-lites and Pirelli's!

25+22=47
13+19=32

Generally, Enkei wheels are not very light. Take a look at Alex's Wheel and Tire weight thread (it's on the top of this forum). Thread

Good luck,
Ryan
