installing new tires?

i want to replace my runflat dunlops ( almost slicks now ) with the Bridgestone Potenza Re050A,205/45/R17, (the runflats), wanted to know if i can just order the tires off of tirerack and then bring them to a local tire installation place like discount tires, or do i need to take the car to the mini dealer; i heard somewhere that an allignment for the mini can only be done at the dealership, because the dealer will not give out that information, is this true? And will places other than the mini dealer work with runflats?

Alignment can be done at numerous shops beside dealerships.

SPRP85 is right, the alignment on the Mini is as simple as a Honda Civic. Set the toe and let it go (late '05 and on I believe have some rear camber adjustments.)
As far as the tires go, not to step on Alex's toes or take anything away from the Rack, or the like, but most local shops will work w/ you on pricing and price matching the online tire guys. Try the local guys you trust and who give you the svc. after you buy your tires ie. rotations, re-balancing, alignments, flat repairs, etc....if they don't want to work w/ you, then your best bet is getting on the phone w/ the Rack, they're great.
Oh, and by the way, you can't go wrong w/ the 050's, awesome tires.

Sorry, missed the part about servicing run-flats. Most major tire retailers and even some mom & pop shops will be able to service your run-flats. One note to inform you of that I forgot until now is........not every mfg. allows repairing of run-flat tires. In fact, Bridgestone RE040 run-flats state right on the sidewall that you are not to repair it. EVER. Doesn't matter if it's the smallest little brad that you pick up and could normally be repaired. You've gotta replace it. Check before you buy your new tires, or just go w/ the standard non run-flats and carry a can of Slime and a compressor (i do, as do many others here)
