Factory brake fluid
Factory brake fluid
Does anyone know what the dry and wet boiling points are of the DOT 4 brake fluid that is installed in new cars at the factory? Also do dealers use the same when replacing?

It makes sense that the dealers would use the same thing, any DOT 4 is good, infact the cap specifies to use ONLY DOT 4 fluid. I don't know the specific temps, but any DOT 4 should do fine unless you are a full time racer.
Hey look - it's the 3 of us who want to replace our brake fluid this weekend, all in the same place!
Let us know if you will have some spare time Ben... probably Sunday from the looks of things.

Thanks for the replys guys but my original question is still unanswered. I would like to know the specs on the factory supplied fluid so I could compare products. I called a dealer service dept and got "I have no idea" as an answer. Great links polmear. Meb the non silicone is DOT 5.1.
