Ok so on tirerack I'm looking at the Kosei K1 TS 17x7, They look nice with my mini. I'm pretty new at the wheel and tire combo stuff, having never bought wheels before. Well they state the Recommended Tire Size: 205/45-17. However the tire I want either the, Yokohama AVS ES100 215/45WR17, or the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 215/45YR17 Don't come in the 205/45-17 size they recomend. I'm I just dumb or can I use the 215's in place of the 205's?

i would recommend 215/40/17s as currently being practiced on my car, which will look cool, handle very nice. Tire choice, AVS100 is a good choice.

 

So you can run 215's on the same rims as 205's

 

absolutely but the trick is 40mm profiles instead of 45s, a little harsher ride (not too noticable), but fits my taste, 215/45/17s, a lot of people use them and like them, but i went with 215/40/17s.
