Bridgestone Blizzaks
Well it snowed hear in NY today and i had my Bridgestoner Blizzaks (16" on Sport Edition Fox 5) on my MCS. They are awesome. The car fealt great in the snow. This is a vast improvement over the 17's (obvoiusly). I would highly recomend these to any mini owner who motors in the winter
I had a similar situation here in Detroit. I just got my Dunlop WinSports installed, so no more slippin' and slidin'. Before that, there were more than a few "white knuckle" rides.

Snowing like crazy all day. 6 inches over ice...and the plows stayed home this morning since it wasn't supposed to snow this much up here. The MCS with Blizzaks trudges along like a little tank. This is truly one of the best snow-driving cars I've ever had.
The snow tires simply give the MINI the ability to showcase the engineering/design that are actually responsible for great snow-handling; and that is... the almost total absense of torque steer and the excellent front/rear balance. Combined with front wheel drive and good grippy winter tires, who could ask for anything more?

Just curious, if anyone can answer this, I have a pair of Blizzaks mounted on 14" wheels from when I had a Honda Civic Si (the 2000 coupe not the HB). The package came from TireRack (the greatest company in the world) with Borbet rims. They also worked on my Miata with a spacer. Will these work on the MCS? I guess the bolt pattern is similar but not sure of other issues. Is the 14" a problem? I personally prefer smaller tires for snow use.
Thanks

Welcome to MCO Teldon!
You're correct on the bolt pattern: Both the '00 Civic Si and the MINI uses 4-100 pattern. The center bore is actually 0.1mm bigger on the MINI, I'm not sure if this would cause a problem, depends on the wheel, actually. Since you have aftermarkets, my guess is; no problem.
The trick, however, is that the MINI uses lug Bolts, and the Civic uses Studs and lug-Nuts. I'm not sure if the lug-flanges are same/simliar. Send a PM to Dan@tirerack!
Cheers,
Ryan

Also, what's the overall diamater of the wheel combo you've got? It might be too big or too small. 14" might not be enough to clear the OEM brakes and such.

I definatly would test fit. I dont have 1 singgle 14 inch fitment for the MC. I would be concerned as Grinder mensioned on brake clearance, as well on tie rod clearance. I would attempt a jackstanded testfit, and use your floorjack to articulate the suspension's full travel. Also make sure to turn from lock to lock. Test carefully, and do NOT drive untill you have performed full travel and extension fitting.

also slid through one intersection on a red light. Ziggy couldn't stop due to the ice under the snow. With the state budget deficit, plow trucks were no where to be seen.
