My first MOD
My first MOD
OK, sounds silly, 8k miles and the 1st mod is to replace the wonderfully grippy 17" Run Flat Pirelli's with a set of 15" holeys and OEM Continentals.
Not racy a mod.
But after getting a screw in a tire, and paying $281 to replace the tire, I decided maybe these weren't the bast choice for commuting.
I found the Holey's and ires with 500 miles on them in Craiges List $300 delivered to my driveway. (Such a deal) FRom Pep Boys I found a SLIME kit with slime and AC Compressor (Fits in side boot.)
After a week end Here's my impressions.
1) Manhole covers no longer feel like the grand canyon.
2) Asphalt cracks no longer rattle my teeth.
3) MPG seems to have gone up.
4) I have lost that glued to road slot car feeling.
5) My wife thinks the Holey's are much "Cuter" than the S-Lites.
I will be keeping my 17"ers for road trips up the coast, and mountain driving.
I Miss the snap around the corners, but not the fear of losing another $280 because some body leave a screw in the road.
I hope to have a sexier mod to share next time.

You should check with your dealer about the tire/wheel warranty they offer. I bought mine for $500 and it covers me for 5 years. If anything happens to the rims or tires, the warranty will replace them (as long as its accidental damage... ie: nail, brick, bolt, etc.)
Well, I bought Tire and Wheel hazard for $250.00, so far, had two bolts, replaced 2 tires, paid nothing. Of course, this does not help the comfort that you have with the 15s, however you are comprimising from performance, which is very important on my end.
