Anyone have any experience with these pads? Here is a description from MINIMANIA

Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds. The “bite” from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on the highway as well as on the race track. I know that HMS motorsports did a testing on all the ebc products (green, red, and yellow) and found that the red and yellow worked ok, but wore very quickly, like in one or two track days... thus HMS stopped carrying the yellow. I have used the red in my light (2500 lb) bmw for combo street and track and they worked pretty well, lasting about 4 months on the street with maybe 6 track days.. For the track, I suggest that low dust is the least of our worries, but we want a pad that can withstand high temps and last well enought, especially considering the lack of functional cooling ducts available for the MINI... I use PF97.....

 

I just bought front and rear Hawk HPS for the street and I wll do a race specific Hawk pad for the track. I haven't looked into what compounds they have for the MINI, but I would love an HT10 if I could get it.

If you make to a BMW Club Race or SCCA race paddack, you will most racers use Hawk pads.

I ran the Hawk Blues and HT10s on my BMW e36 325 ITS/JP racecar and always had more than enough brakes (with stock rotors!).
