need quick help? Will these rub?

I've got 05 mcs and I am looking at some 17 X 7.5 wheels with 40 offset. I will be putting on the M7 springs which will lower it about 1.3", Will I have any rubbing issues? Thanks for the help.

its going to come down tot he tires being the final factor if they rub or not. If you run 215/40/17's you should be ok I am running 17/7's with the tire size i mentioned and have no rub issues at all

yes, I will be running 215/40/17 or possibly 215/45/17. I've been reading and it seems like the offset I need is 45 but i'm not sure.

You start cutting away plastic ...

It's not a big deal to do. Best thing to do is drive around a while with the new wheels/tires and then take them off and see where the rubbing will be. Most likely only in the rears, but with 40 offset it may happen in fronts also.
I'm very low now and am running 17x7.5-45 with 235-40s. Using a 5mm spacer in the fronts.

That's a tight fit, but I think you just might be able to get away with it.
Im running +42 offset 16x7.5 wheels with 205/50/16's GS-D3's.
considering the bulge on 50 series tires and the bold shoulders of
the GS-D3's I use, if you get a 215/40/17 size with slim shoulders,
(which Im sure minihune will share you with his list of wisdom of
narrow shouldered tires...well, any tires for that matter... ) you
might be able to get it to fit without dremeling.

but even if you do need to dremel, it's not hard to do, from what
I read. maybe 15min with a dremel and you're done.
