Runflat to regular tire question- same width???
Runflat to regular tire question- same width???
I currently have S-Lites and 17" Perelli run flats on my MCS. I placed an order with Edge racing for a set of Flix 17x7 42mm offset wheels and Falken 205/45/17s. The order came in and they installed the wrong tires on the wheels- they installed Falken 205/40/17s. The tires look much skinnier than the current run flats even though they are the same advertised width. Edge is sending a replacement set of wheels/tires next week. What do ya'll think- are the new tires going to be as wide? The 40s look all stretched on the wheel (17x7), thanks in advance for any info you can provide
narrow profile does that to a tire... other way around too..a 205/45
will look narrower than a 205/50 because the 50 profile will bulge more.
your 205/45/17 non-flat will be about the same width as your runflat.
I say about because some tires have bold shoulders than other and
are actually wider than their specs.
