At low speeds, like stop and go traffic, when I step on the brakes (usually a gradual press) I hear a clack-clakc... like the pads hitting the rotors. I took it to the dealer and they said everything was tight and there was nothing to worry about.

I am not having problems stopping but I am worried that SOMETHING is causing the noise....and is it something that will cause problems in the future...

Anyone heard of this?

I got the car back from something unrelated and the mechanic told me he had not received any good feedback on the noise. So he disassembled the brakes, cleaned and regreased them and now I have no more noise.

 

I installed Ferodo 2500 pads and had occassional clacking with front pads when hitting brakes at low speed. Also some rattling over bumps which i thought was some front end issues. The rattling on bumps would stop when i lightly touched brakes. Lived with noise at least i knew what it was & wasn't front end issue.

Have since moved up wilwood race front brake kit and all noise is gone.
