R53, staggered tire advice 225F 205R ?

Hi,
Contemplating running 225/45R15 front and 205/50R15 rear tires on my15x7 ET35 wheels for circuit use.

Does anyone have experience with a such a set staggered setup?

I've notice a lot of the the Honda guys seem to go staggered. Looking to get a better balance by adding more grip at the front instead of removing grip at the rear (which is what I current do with tire pressures). I'm limited in what I can change component wise, so just looking for tire input.

Thanks in advance.

I did that on Gollum I (Works 2004 R53) when I was competing in STX.

Wheels were Enkei PF01 15x8 +35 (front) and 15x7 +35 (rear). The car ran H&R Coil-overs at -2 degrees front and -1.5 rear. Tires were 225/45 front and 195/55 rear.

That car had a Quaife as well, and the whole setup was good on an autocross course.

It was important to me at that time to ensure that the balance was still safe on the street in all weather.

Cheers,

Charlie
