Hi. First time poster. I have a 2006 Mini Cooper Convertible (Base) I just bought. Found the solid brake lines rusted and leaking at a clip. The leak is in the straight section between the front and rear, pretty much in the middle of the car. I understand the designation of my car is R52. I found linestogo dot com has a set made for the R50 (part number BLMC-100-SS). The diagrams show that they are pretty much the same as on my R52, but they will not say they will fit my R52. Does anyone know if there are differences in brake lines on R50 and R52? Has anyone used these lines? They must have the DIN flares I believe?
Thanks Jason. I see they have more than one Mini listed, but for 2006 it does say specifically for R50 only. So my question remains, would the brake line layout for an R50 be the same as an R52?
Thank you ECS Tuning. I did read that post. However, I would still like to know if the line layout is the same between an R50 and an R52. Reason being, the linestogo are pre-bent STAINLESS. With FREE SHIPPING!
I did also see on your website the brake line "kit" which is very comprehensive. I was ready to pull the trigger but..."Both Genuine MINI rear brake lines (the ones that rust)". I wasn't going to go through this trouble with lines that will rust again.
You're also a long time member of this forum. Is there a better section I should post this query? I see you have an R52 as well (or have worked on one). Are the lines the same in the R50 and R52? You must have seen them both?
The linestogo pre bent are stainless so should last longer than the car. They say they are CNC bent from original examples. I wonder if the R53 is the same. There was a reviewer who purchased them for an R53 and said they fit perfect even though they are for an R50.
