I just bought a set of 4 17" S-lites for my MC. First off, what tires should I get for them? I am on a budget, and would like to spend no more than $95-100 per tire. Anything cheaper but worth mentioning would be nice too. Second, what differences will I notice with the 17" S-lites compared to my old 15" 8-spokes? Thanks a lot for your help.

 

Loads more weight that's for sure from the 15's

I run Yokohama ES100 215/45-17's with great performance, no rubbing and run $104 each from the tire rack.

Remember you're going to pay more for 17's because you have more rubber.

I had to do an edit because I noticed the price change from $98 each.

 

I just switched to 15" wheels for winter driving (with 195/60/15 tires)-- I think the ride is much smoother with the 15s than with the 17s -- significantly taller sidewall. However, I do notice some loss of handling grip due to the much narrower tires. Of course, that's fine for me for winter driving.
