New brake pad regulations coming in 2021

Apparently some new regulations will be imposed in America early next year on the compound/composition of brake pads to reduce airborne particulates ... & these will becomes significantly tighter in 2025. ( seems a Long time I know)

So it might be worth keeping in mind if you have a favourite pad combination, perhaps consider buying a spare set over the next 18 months if you see a good price or deal. As long term those dusty but effective pads may have had their day...?

Ps; There might be a get out clause in the small print for “competition use” but I would not want to hang my hat on that.... perhaps someone in the trade can chip in ?

What's next? Harder compound tires to reduce tire dust? What we really need are "mufflers" on the mouths of politicians to reduce all the "hot air"!
