Need opinions on some wheels.

I need to get some new wheels. My original Mini wheels are all bent and cracked from NYC and North Jersey potholes and it's starting to get too warm for the winter tires I'm running now on Mini steelies. I was running 17" wheels. My all season tires still have about half their life. Unfortunately budget is an issue so I'm only looking at cheaper options.

These are my original wheels.

Konig Lace- Are these too busy and angular?

DRW D12

Sport Tuning T10

NS Series NS9012- I'm not sure I like the Matte Black. I think I prefer gloss.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Maybe warnings about a particular brand?

I also need to get a set of TPMS sensors. I reused my original sensors on my winter wheels, and I'm going to just keep them there for convenience. Can anyone suggest an affordable option that isn't junk since these will be my main wheels?

If you are bending the OEM wheels, those aftermarket wheels won’t stand a chance. Cheapest (and strongest) option may be to find a set of used OEM 17” wheels with TPMS included.

Thanks. I recently moved out of that market, so I'm less concerned about that. I looked around Craigslist for used wheels. Nothing around. The closest was a couple sets around NYC, and well that's how mine got damaged. No way I'm buying used wheels from that area.

Posted up some wheel options here I like. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...me-wheels.html

On TPMS sensors we have them here. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-huf-part...36106856227kt/ These are the ones that are made for your MINI, just reset that button on the interior of your MINI and go. Free shipping aslo.

Your road do not sound friendly to wheels so there would be concern about staying with 17" wheels and tires. Realize that unless something drastic changes with the roads or your style of driving given potholes it is highly likely to have same problem. OEM wheels are not that weak. Aftermarket wheels are OK but not always up to the task.

Some ideas would be to consider moving to 16" wheels and tire sizes that give you more sidewall like 205/55-16 or 205/50-16 but tire selection would be more towards street tires with all season rather than Summer Performance tires even if you have a winter set.

If you have 17" tire takeoffs to reuse then yes you can stay with 17" tires but maybe consider a tire with a softer construction and sidewall in 215/45-17 like Continental Extreme Contact DW/ ExtremeContact DWS 06 or other Ultra High Performance All Season tire.

It's better to be cautious and not hit road hazzards but sometimes it is very hard to avoid all problems.

I agree, going to 16" wheels and tires will help with the problem of having poor roads.

The additional sidewalls will help with the ride and hopefully save your wheels from future damage.

Remember you get what you pay for, so cheaper made wheels may not hold up as well. Check with your insurance carrier to see if wheel damage is covered.

I run all season tires so I only need one set of tires instead of having winter and summer tires that cost more in the end.
