I'm on the look out for wheel to run 235/40 r17 or 225/45 r17. The problem is that where I live i have to import the wheels and can't test if they fit. Also Wheels have and add price of +50% on taxes. So I don't have the luxury of getting it wrong.

What I can get here is Rota RB 17x7.5 +45, Enkei RPF1 17x7 +43, Enkei PDC and 17x7.5 +42.

Has some one tired this set up 235/40 and 225/45 on 17x7 +43 or 17x7.5 +42 and +45 with stock suspension and coilovers?

 

If I were you, I would get the Rota RB 17x7.5 and run 215/45-17 tires. Would be the best compromise for performance, looks, and weight.

 

Thanks for the feed back, Currently I'm running pushing 220hp and my tires don't grip as I want (205/45 currently). also I'm finishing installing forged rods and pistons, and racing valves. And I will get a tune to push 260hp, and I think with 215/45 i will still have a grip issue with 260hp.

 

If you are fighting for grip, make sure you get a tire with a tread rating of 250 or less. Do you have an LSD installed? That will help, too.

I have the OEM open diff in my Clubman with a Manic stage 2, and I'm running Bridgestone POTENZA S007A in 205/45-17. The only time I have a traction issue is when its wet, or I do a clutch dump.

 

I do have an LSD, still i think my problem is my yokohama run flat tires. What I'm currently looking to by are the Toyo Tires 225/45 R17 Proxes Tm1, Continental 235 45 R17 Extreme Contact or Bridgestone 235/45 R17 Potenza S001
