2012 tpms

Have been searching thru threads, nothing stood out. The low tire pressure light went on on our 2012 MCS. When checked, one tire was at 34, all others at 38. I thought, well it isn't all that low. Put in 4 lbs, light stays lit. I suspect one of the TPMS sensors in one of the wheels has either gone bad or the battery gave up. So, I guess the question is, long are the sensor batteries supposed to last?

I've seen across the board responses on battery length. Our 2011 CM has original sensors, still working. If the battery gave up you would be seeing zero pressure, I would think.

Did you do a reset?

When this happened to my son on the Countryman, turned out he had a very slow leak from a nail.

How do you do a reset? We're on vacation and don't have the manual with us.

You were right on Moocher, thank you. My wife drives the Mini, went I got in to do the reset, I noticed the symbol showed which tire had been low. How the heck does it know? I can't imagine the sensor is different in each wheel. Anyways, thanks again for taking the time to respond.
