need to replace runflat couple of questions...
Got a metal shard in my rear tire today and I'm wondering...
any opinions on how far or how long I can go on my MINI donut? (ie if I have to order tires).
I did search, not finding the exact answer, but if there's a thread I missed please point me in that direction.
I'm a complete plebeian when it comes to tires... fyi.
Also, at 22,000 miles if I decide to stick with my never-been-rotated-too-expensive-runflats. I should buy a pair and rotate front to back right?

Sorry to hear about your tire.
Had one of my tires damaged earlier
this year.
Usually you can go about 50miles at max 50mph on those donuts.
If you are planning a soso long trip on the donut, make sure you have enough
tire pressure in there (approx 60psi) before you head out.
As far as getting new tires, if you want to keep your runflat setup and if
the tires you are planning to keep are less than 1/2 worn, I'd get a new
pair and install them on the front. If worn more than 1/2, then place the
new tires on the rear. This is to prevent you from spin outs as the
newer tires will have better grip (in most cases on the streets with regular
tires).
