Generally, what 17" tire size is recommended
So I bought an 2006 R53 and love it. It came with RPF1's (205/45/R17) and I notice at about 60% wheel turn I get some clearance issues. I am thinking of selling them and buying some new 17s, but I don't know which size is best. Or should I buy 16s? Thanks guys and definitely can't wait to get this thing a pulley, exhaust, and a tune
The issues you have is with wheel offset/width and not tire size as much. I have stock R90's (17x7, et 43 or 45 iirc) and 205/45r17 tires and they are right as rain.
Do you know the offset/width of the RPF1's?
Going 215/45R17 is relatively popular.

The 17x7 ones that TireRack sells are +43mm which should be fine.
They do make those in +35 and +30 in 17x7, 4x100 though. Might be tight
at the outer tread corner with +30 when turning.
They should be marked somewhere if you pull a wheel off.
You'll also see if someone snuck in a spacer then.

yeah your wheel offset is different, I run the S-lites with 215/45/17 and OZ ulltraleggeras with 47 offset also with 215/45/17 and they are good except ill rub the OZs in the rear slightly on heavy hits
