How to reset the brake pad sensor light when the Dealer refuses to do it?

My stock rear brake pads wore out and the brake pad sensor light in the speedo went on. I replaced the rear pads with EBC pads which do not have the slot for the sensor - I just tied off the sensor line. However, I could not get the sensor light to go off. I just brought the car in for my scheduled maintenance and asked the dealer to clear or reset the sensor warning light. First they said there would be a charge of at least $60 to reset the light because it was not warranty work, then when they heard that I did not reattach the sensor to the rear pads they refused to reset the sensor light, period.

I just want to shut of that annoying orange sensor light. Does anyone know how I can reset the pad sensor light without the help of a dealer?

Thanks.

you don't need to reset the light, your dealer is a moron. you need to replace the sensor. They are a one time shot type of thing, and once they have worn to the point of setting off the light, they must be replaced. don't know how much they are, but they are designed as a disposable item once activated.

(edit)btw even if you'd replaced with oem pads, you'd have to replace the sensor as well.
