Brake bleeding question

I am planning to do a brake upgrade, but I am somewhat concerned about bleeding the system after reading an answer to a brake bleeding question in GoMini. The mag stated bleeding a system with DSC is more complicated and requires the engine to be running and the use of BMW/MINI dealer's Modic' computer system. Any one know any thing about this?

thanks,

After installing steel braided hoses, we bled the system with Ate Super Blue fluid. Used the ol' fashion pump and holdem method and it worked just fine.

I did the same when I installed the ss lines except, I did leave the key in On so that abs was pumped up. Frankly, I don't think that made a difference. I also did the clutch as it uses the brake resavore.

I understand that the clutch uses brake fluid, well not really but that is a discussion for another time. Where is the bleeder valve for the clutch??? Do you follow the same procedure as with the brakes, pump & holdem....

This weekend I plan to install stainless steel lines and put in ATE Super Blue, I just want to make sure that the new/fresh fluid makes it into the clutch part of the brake system.

Bleeder for clutch is on clutch slave cyl. which is on drivers side center of vehicle. I had to remove the plastic cover under the front bumper which is no big deal. Yes, use same procedure as with brakes.. pump & hold. BTW: Always pump up (brakes or clutch) slow to avoid creating bubbles by cavatation.
I did the clutch last on the first bleed rotation (r/r, l/r, r/f, l/f, clutch). On the second bleed rotation, I didn't bleed the clutch at all.
