Bridgestone DriveGuard Runflat is NEW
I just replaced my original runflats with a brand new tire on the market, the Bridgestone DriveGuard Runflat.
The cost per tire was $140 for the 195/55/16 with a 60,000 mile warranty
The specs are as follows..
"Riscount Fires." Think about it...I'm playing nice here, TireRack moderator.
The installation comes with lifetime balancing and rotation.
I paid $74 for four tire Road Hazard. If the sidewall is damaged, the tire will be replaced during the life of the tire. The tire will be patched if it has a tread puncture. I hadn't heard of a tire that would be patched.
I wanted to replace my old runflats with a regular tire, but couldn't make myself do it. The price of the Bridgestone's was too low to ignore.
Peace out, Hippies.

I was just going to post to see if anyone had tried these yet. Hows the ride? Better than the stock runflats? I have come to hate runflats, rough ride, hit a pot hole = replace the tire.
These seem like they would handle a good pot hole a lot better.

I actually switched to them back in November. I have to say the ride is smoother and they definitely handle the pot holes a lot better. I'm glad I switched. They still may not be as smooth as non RF s but it's an improvement and they handle a lot better in the snow as well.
Runflats I Can Live With
I just got rid of my Bridgestone Turanza original RFTs at 13,000 miles. Probably the worst tires ever. There are certainly plenty of really good non RFT tires on the market as suggested in many posts. However, I prefer RFTs on my mini and took a chance on the Bridgestone Driveguards. What a surprise, handling is much improved, noise is down a few decibels, and the ride is much less harsh. Overall, a considerable improvement over other RFTs. A product I have no problem recommending to my fellow Mini owners who wish to stick with RFTs.
I just noticed this thread. I'd posted in another that I had put 195/60-15 Driveguards on my 12 Justa. Cant tell the difference in ride or handling from the stock Conti non runflat 175/65-15 at all. FWIW ride is softer than the 195/55-16 Dunlop Wintersport RFT I use in winter.
