I have a set of the BFG G-Force Sport tires on my R53 Mini, and although they are very grippy....they are the loudest tires I've ever had on a car....and even a truck for that matter.

I'm looking for another set of tires, and it seems like all of the reviews I read for any of the high performance summer tires always have people talking about how loud they are.

Are there any tires I can get that aren't so loud?? I would even give up some grip to now have to hear the tires all the time.

Any suggestions?

You would like the new compulsory tire labels just introduced across Europe:

Sadly, I don't think they can help you as although you can look up tire labels online, even international manufacturers tend to have different tire models in Europe.

My Conti DW tires are pretty quiet.
If you look up tires on TireRack.com and click on the "survey" tab, you
get good comparative info on noise as well as many other attributes on
most tires (sometimes no info on newly released tire models, however).

I have the BFG G Force (2)'s on my '69 Jag, I think they are awesome and never noticed any appreciable road noise. Could be because the SBC 383 with Dual FlowMasters cover it or maybe the Jag is just sound insulated better than the Mini. Anyway, when my runflats are used up, these are the tires I am putting on my Mini because I am so happy with both the grip and their ability to cushion rough pavement.

I just bought my R56 2005 MCS a few weeks ago, but never went on the freeway until yesterday. at 75mph they hum very loud. RF's. I think I would change them out if I was to drive to Denver or KC, however.

The loudest tires I've ever encountered are run-flats with 10,000+ miles on them. I replaced mine with Kumho Ecsta LEs and they never struck me as loud at all. Nice and cheap too.

It has been my experience that HP summer tires tend to be louder than their all season counterparts. If one doesn't rotate their tires then they will be come annoyingly loud. Even all seasons will get loud without rotations.

I like Conti DW as well. I run them as my street tires, not quite as grippy as the best tires, but very quiet. Awesome in the wet.
