15 wheels on R56 S
15 wheels on R56 S
Hey all,
I'm already looking into my next wheels for next summer. I like to change style and have some weird idea in my mind. I'm into that slammed, retro small diameter wheels thing. I know that there are a few 15 inch wheels that do fit but most don't. Oldschool mesh BBS or whatnot.
anyways, if you have any experience please share.
May post my black 17'' ultraleggeras soon

For 15" wheels your options are limited. The R56 has large front brake calipers and won't fit OEM 15" wheels.

Most, if not all, 15 inch wheels will not clear the calipers for the S.
If they did work, I really do like the aftermarket stuff by Avid - knockoffs of several brands incl. Schmidts I believe.
Could always roll around on the Black Steel Emergency Wheel. Powdercoat them and you'll be set. :p

Aftermarket 15" wheels are much the same as OEM 15" wheels, clearance on the inner side of the wheels is too small to fit over the larger front brake calipers of the R56.
For an R50 or R53 with OEM smaller calipers, 15" OEM or aftermarket work fine.
I would think you need to look at 16" wheels or larger as a minimum. There may be some 16" wheels that have minimal clearance and you may need a thin wheel spacer depending on the offset of the wheel. A clearance of 3mm is good to have between the wheel and the brake caliper to provide for cooling. A thin 3mm wheel spacer can be used with the stock wheel bolts or you can change to longer wheel studs and aftermarket lug nuts.
