I'm thinking about switching out to bigger wheels, I like the look, but I don't really plan on racing, so I dont' really want to get performance tires for 16/17's can I get a standard X1 or other nice all purpose tire w/long treadlifeon the bigger wheels?

chollomo- if you do buy those tires that Alex listed, make sure you wash & sauce up
the sidewalls as part of your routine when washing your car. You dont
want the tires cracking from long term use.

Most of us here use tires that only last 10k-20k miles, so a year or so
doesn't really crack the sidewalls. After bout the 3rd year some tires
begin to crack if you don't take care of them well.

Alex,
any other good choices for all season or summer type all purpose, smooth riding, quiet, long tread life tires in about 215/40-17 or 215/45-17. Good wet traction would be a plus since it does rain in my area. Otherwise the weather is mild in Hawaii. I remember you had mentioned a bridgestone in the past but I don't see it listed anymore.

Suggestions?
