Haha yes that is a thorough answer. I was just wondering if the whole thing was a wheel or if it was like you said, a stainless steel cover over an existing wheel. It looks cool, I like it.
Bought my 06 JCW back in April and the former owner maintained/modified it nicely --- my tastes are much parallel to his and it was nice to have some good stuff already done.
It came with 16x7 Konig Feathers and I like them very much, but I've always liked the retro vibe of the Rota RB's so I will likely go with a set of those when new tire time comes which is very soon.
Only disadvantage to the RB's is several additional pounds per corner compared to the Konig.
I finally had a chance to mount the new wheels & tires over the weekend: Enkei TS-10s with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. Wheels are 18"x8", tires are 215/40/18. The combo makes the tires appear a tad stretched, so I might opt for 225s next time.
My craigslist find this week - 17" 8-spoke wheels with pretty good tires from a 2008 S for only $400 (mounting and changing the sensors unfortunately cost a little more than anticipated but still, I love the end result)
My 2002 MCS as I bought her on 18" Enkei RP07 Attachment 171146
Had to replace them as the front rims were bent.
Now she's got 17" Enkei EDR9 Attachment 171147
