205/50 on OEM 15x5.5. Will it fit?

Picked of a set of the OEM "spooler" wheels to use for local autox. They're 15x5.5 ET45. I've got a set of Hankook RS-2's 205/50 to mount on them. Car is lowered 2.5" on coils. Will these fit without rubbing? I've got a 5mm spacer but I'm worried it won't be enough.

you should be fine. i have 15x7 +41 with 205/50's and my cars pretty low and no rubbing or anything

even though your rims are alittle higher offset, the wheels arent as wide which will help. with the 5mm spacer thats deffinitly some more room to play with also. i dont see a problem here. correct me if im wrong anyone!

Good luck!

Weird...even with a 5mm spacer they didn't fit. I normally run 17x7.5 et42 with 205/40 and they fit fine with no spacer.

I thought the switch would fit also. Where exactly is the fit problem; inside clearance? Is it clearing the calipers okay?

I tried the switch at www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp, and it seemed okay. The only thing about your setup that I couldn't enter was the 2.5" drop. But I didn't think the 2.5" drop would matter because your 15" setup is actually shorter than your 17" setup.

Strange...

Just wondering do they fit in the back?

I had to fab something up to make my 15in rpf1s to fit. Check to see if the inner barrel is hitting the ball joint stud and nut(behind and below the front brake caliper) if it is I have a solution for you. it might be the rim and not the tire. I too run a beefy tire and have no problems.

So was this a wheel itself clearance issue? Getting 15" to fit the new cars is tricky - I only have a handful of wheels that will work.

I'd have figured the shorter diameter and equal width would have been no problem, if the wheels were a solid fit.

The wheels fit fine, been running them as winters for 2 seasons now. Tire was rubbing on the coilover perch. I wasn't expected stretch by any means considering its a fairly narrow wheel with a wider tire, but the sidewalls bulged out wayyy more than I was expecting. Almost thinking they didn't put enough air in them or something. Rears fit no problem.
