Goodyear Tires?

Since I work for Goodyear (we make tires) we can usually get a good/very good deal when buying tires.

When reading though the tire posts I rarely see any Goodyear brand tires mentioned.

Is there a Goodyear make/model of tire that is great on our Mini's?

I'd consider any brand of tire that made them in the size I like to run- 175-65 R15. It's the OEM size for the stock Cooper, yes, but not all of us feel the need to automatically put bigger tires on the car.

F1s were great but they don't have them in the sizes we need anymore

my '09 mcs came with 16' goodyears and while I have no complaint I would not replace them at the $325 each price listed. I'd probably go with brigstones at around $150 and Mini has been using the bridgestones and continentals more recently probably for the same reason. these are runflats by the way as are the bridgestones and conti's.

The Eagle GT (V) are 24lbs, 3lbs heavier than my current S.Drives in 205/50/16. Not crazy heavy. Decent user reviews on TireRack but not great review BY TireRack.

I'm running the Eagle GT's on my 02 MCS and I like them. I needed a good reliable all season tire for Utah winters (and summers) that also looked good and handled good. A lot to ask but i've been happy and was willing to sacrifice a few pounds for it. A lot of all season tires are either marginal at best in bad weather or aren't very good in the summer. They're not as good as a snow tire nor as good as a summer tire but I think they're a good compromise.

Like jeanstpierre, my MINI came with some Goodyear RF tires and I was not unhappy with them. Due to cost though, switched to non-RF when they wore out.

Not sure why, but it does not seem like Goodyear tires get rated very well by reviewers. And at least for my stock size, they only offer RFs.

Thanks for the replies so far, Being in Kansas, we get both seasons here, winter and summer
I'm not to worried about price since I can get them with employee discounts at the twice a year sale here at the factory.

@ jeanstpierre do you know what make / model of tire yours is?

Goodyear Excellance 195/55/r16 RF. they are wearing well (15000 miles) but my wife doesn't punish them much. the only time they get a workout is when I drive 50 miles to have the car serviced or to blow it out twice a month. they still look new but as previously stated I would not pay $325+ eack to replace them. If you can get them for half that price on your employee discount then theyare well worth it.

I have Goodyear RS-A'S on my R53. No complaints, too early to give a wear review.
Tire Rack reviews rate it pretty poor, but it seems to be a tire that does everything
OK and nothing exceptionally.

Only decent one I could find was the Eagle F1 Asymmetric in 215/45/17 - one size
over the oem 205/45/17, but it will just fit. Nothing good anymore for 15 or 16
(including 195/60/15 and 205/50/16 as well as the oem sizes).

F1 GS-D3's right now,215/40/17. The tread is almost gone and seeing as how our sizes are no longer available, will be moving on to michelin pilot super sports.

I had eagle f1's on my SVT focus size 215/xx/17 (cant remember) and they were pretty good as far as grip dry and wet was concerned. I currently run 225/45/17 Ecsta SPT on my MCS (they rub in the rear on bumps) that i like just as much, i would have no issue getting the F1's again.

I have the Eagle F1 All Seasons on my MCS, they seem to be a quality tire. No issues in the snow and performance is what you would expect.

I used to run F1 GS-D3s, but they stopped making them in 205/50-16, and then I got some Yoko S-Drives for Tristan and it made the F1s feel like they were square. I went looking for something more comfortable.
