05 "S" lites on 2011"S"
I have 2 mcs. 1 is a 2005 (yellow) and 1 is a 2011 (ice blue) The 2005 had 17 inch "S" lites while the 2011 had 16 inch silver 5 spokes. After thinking about it for 2 or 3 weeks, I decided to change the wheels, since the white wheels look so good on the ice blue 2011. But--no sensors in those wheels. Was told the sensors from the 2011 wheels wouldn't work\fit in the 05 wheels, so I need some sensors for the 05's !! Can anyone help ?? PLEASE !!
It's true that the 2005 wheels didn't come with sensors, but I don't know for certain whether or not they'll accept sensors. The person to contact would be Alex at TireRack (either here on NAM or by calling TireRack directly). Also, even if the inner surface of the wheel isn't machined correctly to accept OEM MINI sensors, there may be aftermarket sensors that would work with the 2005 wheels.
Thanks guys. But -- the wheels I have were used from 03 to 09 so some of those years had the sensors. May try to buy a set for a 07 and try them. Do I have to run all 4 to turn off the damn light ??

I have a set of 2009 Crown Spokes (in silver, though) that I'd love to trade for S-Lites, since my car is a 2002. Too bad we didn't live closer (and my wheels are not white). That's a trade I would gladly do.

If you look at his signature pic, he already is using the wheels. Really does look good, I must agree.
I can say from experiance that you can use the smaller lugs with the larger wheels, and I seem to recall it works the other way, also.

All of the OEM MINI wheels from both before and after the 2006 changeover from 12 mm to 14 mm bolts have the same size bolt hole diameter (approximately 16 mm). The bolt hole pattern and hub diameter have also remained unchanged since the beginning, so it's pretty easy to switch wheels amongst the various years of MINIs, as long as you can address the TPMS sensor issue when needed.
