Ok, I know this must have been beat to death already, but I'm having trouble finding what I need from the search function.

I have a 2008 MCS hatchback. I have 60,000 miles on my runflats, and its time for new tires. Incidentally, the runflats have been fine. I had to 'use' one once after I got a screw in it. It was easily and cheaply repaired. The ride is fine, the wear is fine etc. I just don't like the idea that if I have to replace one, it could be 3-400 dollars. I've been quoted $1200 for four, installed. I'm probably going to get regular tires (maybe continental all season tires) and I'm looking into options for a compact spare.

I already know about Dynaplug, slime, compressors, AAA and cell phones.

Besides the $300 option from Mini, what other compact spares will fit my car? I'm aware some will not fit over the front brakes, and that if I get a flat in front, I may have to change two tires. Not a big deal in my opinion.

What spares do y'all have, where did you get them, and how much did they cost?

My Coupe won't have a good place to carry a spare, so I'll probably do the compressor, goo, etc route.

 

I just found this morning at the pull a part, a 05 Honda civic 15" compact spare. $17 out the door. This is on my R53
