Replace wheels, or get bigger/different tires & wheels?
My 2005 Cooper S convertible was hit in a parking lot. Insurance is giving me $550 to get the front two aftermarket rims "rechromed".
The back two are pretty beat up from parellel parking.
I currently have the 17 x 7 wheels with run flats that came with the car when I purchased it used. My question is whether I should just use the $550 to buy new wheels to fit the existing tires, or should I take the $$$ plunge and buy new (smaller, bigger, or different size) tires and new wheels too? I have about 10k miles on the run flats.
guess I need to know the ins/outs of the different tire options.
Thanks!

You can get a smoother riding tire in non-runflat.
Bigger vs smaller is a blend between the better ride and lower weight of the smaller wheels , compared to the looks and cornering feel of larger wheels.
