Wheel question - Hub centric and offset
I am shopping for wheels for my 2011 Mini Clubman and have been searching the for sale site.
Two questions :
1) What is the offset on my 15 inch wheels? I see some for sale that have +35 offset . Is that the same as the factory wheels and if not how much would it effect the wheel sticking out from the fender especially if they are 17 inch rims.
2) What does non-hub centric mean?

Most if not all OEM wheels from MINI range from 48 to 52 et.
Those 35's would be pushed right out to the edge of the fender liners for sure and in most cases 36et is the max. But IMO also doesn't look as good unless you are dropped a bit for the R56's.
If you had a choice with no drop, 40-42et is probably your best bet.
Huncentric rings for those wheels requring them fill in the gap between the wheel and the hub making the wheel centered, hence the word "centric". Common for aftermarket wheel manufacturers who sell wheels with various bolt patters and sizes of hub bore to fit a wider market of applications.
If it says non hub centric, then no rings are needed and they will fit right up tight to your hub.
