2008 R56, what size 18" tires?

I have a 08 R56 and will be going to a 18" wheel. What size tires should I run? It looks like a 215/35/18 is the correct size, but I have seen some posts here with 225/40/18. Is there going to be a clearance issue with the bigger tire when I lower the car later? Any rubbing at all with the 225/40 ?

215/35/18
is a good fit. I have had rubbing with anything 25" tall.

I run 215/40/18 Summitumo's (from Tire Rack) with NM Lowering Springs and have not experienced any rubbing. I previously ran 35 aspect ratio tires and bent several wheels hitting medium sized potholes. The 40's have worked much better for me. My gallery has a few pics of the 40's.

What tire size did you end up with? I'm wanting to get 225/40-18 for my 09 Clubman.

I've been running 215/40-18's for a while now and experienced minor rubbing. Thinking about going to 215/35's...

I've run 225/35R18. That worked well. I also tried 245/35R18. I had to space out the fronts (18x8 wheels, +45), and the tires hit the plastic fender arches at all four corners over bumps.

It gripped like crazy, though.
