Wheel woes, any input appreciated

Took 'Coop into the local Big O to have my run flats removed and my "old" tires off my previous car put on. Got the car back, all 4 rims now have marks/scratches/chips in the paint from where they put it in the machine, and after driving it and discovering a wobble in the steering wheel, come to find from a different shop that my rims are now bent.

I have the 17" s-lites from the 1st gen models on an '05 MCS, what I want to know is if it's possible they could have bent my rims in the process of taking the rf's off? They said they were difficult to work with, but now my rims are scratched and bent?

I'm going to try to get them to pay for the damage, as I have friends who saw the wheels/rode in the car before/after they touched it, and I have written proof that they're bent, but has anyone else had to deal with something like this?

My wheels were mint...and now I can't even go 50 without them wobbling.

You should have noted the damage w/ mgmt. before you left the facility. If they pony up after the fact then I would be surprised. In any event I wish you luck.

I tried...they didn't really say much to it. But now that I know they're bent...

Sorry to hear about this. I would talk to the shop owner (Big O Tires is a locally run and owned franchise dealer chain) and see what they can do to help you pay for damages. I wish you luck as well.

My experience with my local big o shop has been horrible. Ran a shop of my own and got several cars in that the Big O shop had messed up in some form or fashion. Their response was generally "oh well". It is quite easy to bend rims, especially aluminum ones, when r&r tires if they are not careful. Tire machines are capable of incredible forces. More often than not the customer was stuck with the re repair bill and Big O would do nothing for them. That has been my experience working with my local branch.
