MCS auto-inflate via low tire pressure detection system?
The existence of a a low tire pressure warning system in an MCS suggests there exists a direct tap into the tire. I'm a little but puzzled how they do this, but if so, what would it take to reverse this to maintain tire pressure in the event of a puncture? Such may be useful to those replacing their runflats with non-runflats.
No, the low tire pressure system does not actuall monitor the active pressure of each tire. It measures the relative pressures of all tires based on the different rolling speeds using the ABS sensors on each wheel.
Sorry the MINI is not a HUMMER.

If I am not mistaken, the system doesn't directly monitor the air pressure. It monitors the tire rotation. A tire with less pressure rotates differently. The computer senses the difference in rotation and sets off the alarm.

The HUMMER was my reference point. Thx for the correction.

Yeah as far as I know the H1 and just recently the H2 are the only civilian vehicles that come with a remote tire inflation system. The H1 had it first but I don't think the original H2 did. The H2 has it as an option now i think. The H2 is still a sucky vehicle though. How would you like to say you paid over 50 grand for a what is basicly a Tahoe.
