I picked up a set of White Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's in the 17x7", 4x100, 45ET configuration. I'm having them put on at the dealership, and the tech there says the wheel is "very loose" on the hub of the rotor. From TD's website it looks like the wheel has a 56mm centerbore (same as stock). The tech is suggesting I might need a wheel spacer, but if I put in a 5mm wheel spacer and then put on the H-Sport lowering springs, I'm likely to have rubbing.

I'm going by later today to have a look for myself to try and get a better assessment of the situation, but I'm no expert. Have other folks who got the PR1's from TD used hub rings and/or wheel spacers? Have folks successfully used this wheel without either of the two?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I run the Team Dynamics wheels and sell them at Ralph Schomp MINI. It is very important that you get the correct hub rings. The wheels require a center hub ring to reduces it down from 73.10 to 56.10. If the dealer does not have them, any tire/wheel shop should be able to hook you up.

I got a hub ring from Discount Tire that is the right size, but it's a plastic hub ring...I think it's from Konig. The service tech said using the plastic ring was okay for 'gentle' driving, but I'd need a more long-term solution for track days and aggressive driving. Do I want like a rubber or metal hub ring, or is there another solution that is better?

Thanks for the reply!

If you bought them from us, we try to make sure that TD includes a set of Hub-centric rings. This plastic insert would center the wheel on the hub and take up any slack that you encounter. They are fairly common in the aftermarket wheel industry, as it allows them to use one mold to get literally hundreds or fitments by using these adapters/inserts. I have them on my TD Monzas and they work great, no fear of breakage because they are such a perfect fit and snap into place on the wheel before being mounted.
