This really sounds like a Yokohama problem rather than a Tire Rack problem to me. From the provided information, it looks as though Tire Rack notified you when they were notified by Yokohama. How is that the fault of the 'middle man' (=Tire Rack)?

It sounds to me like they communicated with you properly, professionally, and in a time frame from which they were able to get information from Yokohama about it being pushed back. You would have run across this same situation with any other company that you decided to order those particular tires from. Doubtful it could have been handled any better or differently.

Does it suck that you won't have your tires? Yes... But I don't know what you expect the distributor to do about it if the manufacturer changes the date on them. They haven't charged you, they gave you the option to cancel, they informed you of the status change as soon as they found out. To me, it sounds like they've done everything properly considering the situation.

I honestly don't know what you could have expected them to do differently, other than to predict the future. And if they were able to do that, they'd just buy lottery tickets and not worry about selling tires to people who don't have the ability to understand that sometimes things happen that are outside of their control...

Anyway, best of luck to you in eventually getting a set of tires, mate.

Damn!

And no one quoted it (those don't go away or change with edits...)

We're all in the dark!

Tire rack has been great for the first set of tires I purchased and for the rims that I latter purchased. When the tires were not available at the first location they charged me a total of $6.00 more to overnight them from the east coast to CA. They really try to communicate and answer any questions that you might have. I like the information that they have on the tires wheels etc that they sell allowing us to make an informed decision.

Okay, I'm locking this thread since the OP deleted the original post.

LIL PIGG, if you would like me to reopen this so you can continue your conversation, please let me know. Will be happy to do so, but since there's nothing to respond to as it stands right now...it's not really serving a purpose.
