Michelin Pilot Alpin 205/55/16VR used

Michelin Pilot Alpin 205/55/16 VR

I spotted an ad for these - used - for snow tires for my mini... does anyone know anything about this brand?
And he says they have 5/32nds left on two tires and 7/32nds on the other two.???
What the heck does that mean? That percentage to me sounds like the tread is mostly gone??

Heeeellllllpppppppppppp! And thanks in advance for any help you can offer up.!

Cab Tirerack is a great place to start, here's a link:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/michel...elin-tires.jsp

I would first find out what the Model is, then look up that tire (new) you will find the Tread Depth Ratio and take it from there. The tires with 7/32 are about 1/4 used up, the 5/32 are a bit farther along probably about half used up.

Hope this helps!!

Snow tires are typically done with winter traction at 5/32nds. I recomend running their life out as all seasons.

7/32nds is mabey 1 more winter left. I'd pass on this set for winters, but for a cheap allseason option they could work for a few miles.

These are snow tires, so they won't be as precise in warm weather, and the warm weather will accelerate their wear. They are also extinct, no longer made by Michelin.
