Sounds like a great choice, never mentioned which part of the country you are in, cause those are not an All-Season tire. I sold one of my sets of 17 and got some 15s, debating between Kumho XS, Hankook RS-3, and the Nitto NT01.

I am in Annapolis MD. Get some snow (doesn't stick) but nothing I haven't dealt with before on my previous cars and high performance tires.

Take some pics too, want to see what it looks like.
After the GY GS-D3 go bald, want to get either Kumho XS or Dunlop Star Specs for GP wheels, too.

Did a search, d.p. to put some ease into your purchase of 225/40-18s and this cat has 18x7.5 increasing the width of tire compared to 18x7, So they fit!

Wheels are now on the car, along with the 225/40-18 R-S2's. They fit great!! zero rubbing, even with the steering wheel at full lock.
Specs:

- wheels: Rota P1 - 18x7.5 et.45
- tires: Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 - 225/40-18
-suspension: H&R sport springs w/ stock sport suspension

Went for a long spirited drive this afternoon and everything feels great. The grip on the RS2's is fantastic, and rides much better than the run flats. I did rub on the wheel liner once over a high speed corner with a sharp dip. Besides that everything feels great. A couple pics.

The RS-2 has a 25.1 diameter 9.1 width @?lbs
StarSpecs has 25.1 diameter 9.2 width @25lbs
XS has 25.0 diameter 9.0 width @22lbs
RE-11 has 25.1 diameter 9.1 width @26lbs
AD08 has 25.0 diameter 9.1 width @25lbs

All these tires were measured on a 8 inch rim, so for those of us running 18x7, they won't be as wide as listed. I never really considered tire weight an issue, just always wanted the stickiest tire, yet we spend literally thousands on lightweight rims, just to put the heaviest tire by getting the widest tread width possible. Just thought that was funny, so I listed tire weight, too.
There is like two R53's on NAM that are running 225/40-18s but they have not responded to my PMs, and only one has pics in gallery which I do not believe those are the 225/40-18s. I have an R53 and will try the Kumho XS, because it has the smallest diameter/width and the cheapest. I know they suck in rain, but really want this to fit GP on oem GP wheels.
