I got my Mini up on jacks yesterday and started to replace the rubber brake lines with the teflon lined steel braided version from Goodridge then realized the fitting to the calipers didn't match. They're not even the same thread nor diameter.

The Goodridge set sent to me is labled for 02 Mini. Mine is 03.

Has anyone had experience with this problem?

Thanks.

To answer my own question, quote from Outmotoring site:

"Please note: as of the March of '03 build there is a new style of hose fittings, which have not been released yet. The lines (Goodridge) for the pre March '03 are available now."

And mine would have to be June 03

Yeah, I know this sucks, BMW did a couple other stupid things with the march 03 build that will screw up the aftermarket even more...they added a rear right brake wear sensor and theres some change to the battery cover and/or upper perch bolts...which messes up some of the fittings for the Upper Stress Bars. It just keeps getting worse. soon there will be a different aftermarket part for each year of the MINI..

Sorry it had to happen to you. Goodridge is working on new lines for the post 03-03 build MINI's.

If I hear anything I'll post it here.

Yup...found that out when I installed the redstuff. Ended up tieing (huh?) up the rear sensor lines...totally useless now. Oh well...I don't trust idiot lights anyway and check my pads visually.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know of other manufactuers of brake lines that would work, like Russel?
