Is it safe to re-drill 5x114.3 rims to 4x100?

More specifically, has anyone ever redrill a set of BBS RS from 5x114.3 to 4x100? Is it safe or wise to do so?

boy you would have to be very precise with your placement to avoid vibration issues I'd imagine.

Doesn't sound like the best idea to me. Wouldn't you have to "fill in" one or more of the holes, since there are 5 of them, all spaced differently than the 4 x 100 pattern???

Describe what you have in mind to do this...

It seems on other forums like VW Vortex, the wheel ****** over there are accustomed to either re-drilling certain patterns or buying wheel adapters to make different rims to fit on their cars. I was just wondering if it was possible to purchase some BBS RS in a 5x114.3 pattern and make them fit on our car somehow. Your guys' sentiments are exactly how I feel, but I'm just wondering how others have done it or any recommendations they may have.

Redrilling rs's from 5x114.3 to 4x100 is pretty common. As long as you find a good machine shop you should have no problems.

It can be done for a street application. I would be hesitant to run it on a track just to be safe.

I cannot remember if there is a 4 bolt to 5 bolt adapter you can purchase.

Its not something I know of you being able to buy retail They need to be pressed into your redrill wheels. I'd look for a shop that does race wheel work, We have one in Hammond Indiana, Not affliated with TTR.
