spare donuts-what info do I need?

just spent 20 minutes going over what other folks have done about a donut spare. Seems H

Seems that buying a spare for another similar sized car from a junk yard makes the most sense. (Honda, Mazda, Chevy Cobalt)

I'm running 215/25/18's. Know I need 4 X 100 with 14mm compatible lugs. What other data do I need to know looking at another mfg's donut to see if it fits mine?

well there is backspacing, but most FWD cars will be close enough to work. Should clear the brakes too

i simply bought a used MINI doughnut wheel from a private party, obtained a new tire for it from Tire Rack, ordered a bag with checkers from the Bag Lady in NJ, and had a local shop mount the tire to the wheel. I paid $25 for the wheel. They show up on NAM every now and then. I talked to a rep at the Tire Rack to make sure I got the correct tire. At that time, they didnt show it on their web page. The Bag Lady is wonderful and makes great bags for a low price. Getting a bag from her is a no brainer. Good luck

The Bag Lady has retired, and I can't find anyone who sells them.
